Fox Helmet

This was an older project that I am reblogging about. I had someone design a fox tattoo for me a while ago.  I took the drawing and drew it freehand on my yellow helmet with a sharpie one night. I went over parts of it with a silver sharpie to "correct" mistakes and create a sort of depth.

I did this at night on my bed

Used lines to create the perception of balance and sort of symmetry  

The number four is my favorite number. A lot of things come in fours like seasons, card suits, the inner sailor senshis (haha)... But also the number four looks like the planet Jupiter's symbol. And Jupiter is my favorite planet. 

Sketched out different typography first to try to figure out what style I liked best

Covered a printed/painted manufacturer symbol on the back. Later made the lines even and straight with painters tape.  

Added the Biltwell bubble shield in smoke mirror.  

I think it's pretty rad

One of my favorite helmets now.  

Later on, clear coated it with auto paint. And definitely worn it for rides. It's an eye catcher.  

Now I have to go finish painting and building the other bikes with similar color schemes. [smile] I'm pretty happy with the helmet.  

I have more helmets and designs I want to do. I will get to them sometime.
