Motorgrrl Season Opener 2018
Motorgrrl is a woman-owned motorcycle service shop and community garage located in Brooklyn near Williamsburg. Valerie Figarella, the owner, has become a spoke in New York's motorcycle community--supporting many local groups and sponsoring local and east coast events like Babes Ride Out and the Fox Run.
She started a tradition of having a Season Opening party in the spring to kick-off quintessential riding season with an art show and party open to the public. The art show often showcases local artists but this year it extended its artists to the east coast area.
All motorcycle enthusiasts with a dynamic collection of motorcycle themed art, the artists this year included Katy Clark, Adriana De Cervantes, Geoff Barrenger, John Saponara, Grace Roselli, Lydia Roberts, Noah Conopask, and yours truly (Atticus Phansa).
The turn out for the party was between 250-300 people. It was all positive and fun energy with Brooklyn Brewery sponsoring drinks, Moto Spirits selling whiskey, Moto films being projected outside and the street filled with motorcycles.
I also was proud of the diverse style, talent, and media of the artists this year. All super talented and good people.
